Dodge City, KS – Residents across southwest Kansas can expect a calm but chilly night as skies clear and temperatures dip into the 30s, according to the National Weather Service in Dodge City.
Forecasters said gusty north winds will continue through mid-to-late evening before gradually diminishing overnight. Clear skies will help temperatures fall into the lower to upper 30s, with some rural areas possibly seeing readings near freezing by early Sunday morning.
Lows are forecast to range from 32°F in Syracuse and Garden City to around 40°F near Pratt and Medicine Lodge, while Dodge City is expected to bottom out near 37°F.
The brief cool-down follows a breezy Saturday across much of western Kansas, where north winds reached 25–35 mph during the afternoon.
Sunday will bring plenty of sunshine and lighter winds, with highs rebounding into the mid-60s. The quiet and dry weather pattern is expected to continue through early next week, offering mild afternoons and cool nights.
Residents are advised to protect sensitive plants and outdoor items that may be affected by near-frost conditions in low-lying or sheltered areas overnight.
