Dodge City, KS – Southwest Kansas residents can expect a shift in weather conditions as temperatures rise into the 80s by Friday, bringing a warm and dry stretch that will carry through the weekend.
According to the US National Weather Service Dodge City, Wednesday will remain mild, but a gradual warm-up begins Thursday before peaking in the 80s across much of the region Friday. Communities including Dodge City, Garden City, Liberal, and Hays are all forecast to see highs between 80 and 83 degrees by the weekend.
The forecast also calls for a multi-day dry period beginning Friday. Meteorologists say the dry pattern is expected to extend beyond the weekend, reducing chances for rain across southwest Kansas. That means good news for outdoor plans, though dry conditions could also increase fire weather concerns if winds pick up.
The temperature rise follows a cooler midweek period, where highs stayed in the 60s and low 70s. By Friday, locations such as Ashland, Ness City, and Pratt will warm noticeably, with highs reaching the low 80s. Saturday is projected to continue the warm and dry trend, providing stable weather for travel and weekend events.
Residents are encouraged to monitor updated forecasts as the dry streak extends into next week.
