Dodge City, KS – Light snow may make a return to southwest and north-central Kansas late this weekend, according to the National Weather Service in Dodge City.

Forecasters report a 15% to 40% chance for light snow beginning Sunday night and continuing into Monday, with the best chances northeast of Dodge City. Areas including Great Bend, Hays, and Pratt could see light accumulations over a half inch, while Dodge City itself is expected to see lighter, more scattered snowfall.

At this time, no major accumulations are expected, but forecasters caution that slick roads could develop during the Monday morning commute, especially on untreated surfaces. Temperatures are forecast to remain below freezing overnight, allowing any snow that falls to stick briefly before melting later in the day.

Residents are advised to monitor local forecasts through the weekend as the system develops, since even light snow combined with early-morning cold can impact travel.

This marks another early-season snowfall event for Kansas, continuing the colder pattern that has followed Thanksgiving across the region.
