Dodge City, KS – The National Weather Service in Dodge City is warning of patchy freezing fog this morning across southwest Kansas, with visibilities falling below one mile in some areas through 10 a.m. Friday.
The fog is expected to be most widespread south and east of Dodge City, potentially creating isolated slick spots on untreated roads, bridges, and sidewalks. Drivers should slow down, use low-beam headlights, and allow extra travel time during the morning commute.
Forecasters say conditions will gradually improve by mid-morning as the fog lifts and temperatures rise above freezing. The rest of the day is expected to remain dry and seasonably cool, with highs in the 40s and 50s under partly cloudy skies.
Residents are reminded to take precautions when driving or walking outdoors early today due to reduced visibility and icy surfaces.
