Dodge City, Kansas – Southwest Kansas residents should prepare for a week of noticeable temperature swings, with mild daytime highs contrasting sharply with cold overnight lows.
According to the National Weather Service in Dodge City, temperatures will gradually warm through the middle of the week before cooling again by the weekend. In Dodge City, Monday’s high is expected near 52 degrees, with a chilly overnight low around 25 degrees.
The warming trend continues into Tuesday and Wednesday, when highs are forecast to reach the mid to upper 50s, peaking near 56 degrees Wednesday. Overnight lows during this period will remain cold, generally falling into the upper 20s to lower 30s, creating large day-to-night temperature differences.
By Thursday, slightly cooler air begins to move in, bringing highs back into the upper 40s, followed by a more noticeable cooldown heading into Friday and Saturday. Weekend highs are forecast to range from the low to upper 40s, with nighttime lows dipping back into the low 20s.
Similar trends are expected across surrounding communities, including Garden City, Liberal, and Scott City, where highs will fluctuate between the 40s and 50s, paired with consistently cold mornings.
