Dodge City, Kan. – Western Kansas will be soaked with widespread showers and thunderstorms Monday, bringing some of the highest rain chances of the week. Dodge City faces up to an 80% chance of rain through Monday evening, with neighboring towns like Elkhart and Ulysses peaking near 85%.

According to the National Weather Service in Dodge City, storm coverage will be heaviest from Monday afternoon into late evening, with chances gradually dropping after midnight. Rainfall could bring ponding on roads, slower commutes, and potential localized flooding in low-lying areas.

Communities across southwest Kansas including Garden City, Liberal, and Ashland should expect storm activity during the day, with probabilities ranging between 60% and 80% through Monday night. By Tuesday, rain chances ease to below 20% in most areas, before a few spotty showers return late in the week.

Drivers are urged to use caution on wet roads, avoid low-water crossings, and allow extra travel time during heavier downpours. Farmers may also face short delays in fieldwork as soils stay saturated through early week.

Storm chances linger in the region through the weekend, though at lower coverage, with additional updates possible if storms redevelop.
