Dodge City, KS – The National Weather Service in Dodge City reports that southwest Kansas will experience a dry but breezy weekend, with big temperature swings expected between Saturday and Sunday.
Saturday will bring milder conditions, with highs in the low to mid-50s and gusty southwest winds. However, a strong cold front will sweep through the region Saturday night, bringing a quick drop in temperatures.
By Sunday, unseasonably cold air settles in, with highs only in the upper 30s to mid-40s, and wind chills making it feel even colder. Areas northeast of Dodge City could struggle to climb out of the upper 30s.
Despite the chill, skies will remain mostly sunny, and no precipitation is expected through the weekend.
Residents should prepare for a blustery cooldown and secure any outdoor items ahead of the front.
