Dodge City, KS – The US National Weather Service in Dodge City is urging drivers to use extra caution this morning as slick spots have developed on roadways and sidewalks following overnight precipitation and subfreezing temperatures.

As of 4:00 a.m., road condition reports from KDOT (kandrive.gov) indicated areas of icy and partially covered roads across portions of southwest Kansas, including near Dodge City, Garden City, and Liberal.

Temperatures are holding in the 20s, with wind chills in the teens, allowing residual moisture to freeze on untreated surfaces. Even though the precipitation has ended, isolated slick spots may persist through the early morning commute.

Motorists are advised to dress warmly, cover exposed skin, and check road conditions before heading out. Conditions should improve as the sun rises and temperatures climb slightly later in the day.
