Phoenix, AZ – Will Arizona change clocks this weekend? While much of the country turns clocks back one hour at 2 a.m. on Sunday, November 2, 2025, most of Arizona will not. The state has opted out of Daylight Saving Time for decades, meaning residents in Phoenix, Tucson, and Flagstaff will continue observing the same time year-round.
According to the U.S. Department of Transportation, Arizona remains on Mountain Standard Time (MST) throughout the year. The only exception is the Navajo Nation, which observes Daylight Saving Time and will “fall back” one hour this Sunday to align with neighboring states like New Mexico and Utah.
For the rest of Arizona, clocks stay the same — no adjustment needed. Residents will, however, notice that sunrise and sunset times differ from nearby states. On Sunday, Phoenix will see sunrise around 6:50 a.m. and sunset near 5:34 p.m.
Officials still recommend using the national time change weekend as a reminder to check smoke and carbon monoxide detectors and replace batteries if needed — a safety habit encouraged across the country.
Daylight Saving Time will return for most of the U.S. on Sunday, March 8, 2026, but Arizona will once again stay on standard time year-round.
