According to the Stark County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded around 11:35 a.m. Thursday to 3634 Interstate 94 Business Loop East for a report of a male who was believed to have been shot. Upon arrival, deputies determined the 45-year-old male had sustained a gunshot wound.

The victim was transported to CHI St. Alexius Health Dickinson, where he later died from his injuries, authorities said.

During the investigation, a 46-year-old male suspect was identified. Law enforcement located the suspect in a vehicle in Dickinson and attempted a traffic stop. According to the sheriff’s office, the suspect allegedly fled, leading officers on a short pursuit before stopping in the parking lot of the Dickinson Public Safety Center. He was taken into custody without incident.
