Fort Worth, Texas – A cold front sweeping into North Texas Wednesday night could spark scattered thunderstorms from Graham to Paris, with the potential for small hail, strong wind gusts, and dangerous lightning through early Thursday morning.

According to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth, the slow-moving front will move southward, triggering storms near and along its path beginning late Wednesday. While many storms will remain isolated, a few could become strong to marginally severe across the DFW metroplex and surrounding counties.

Cities like Sherman, Paris, and Canton could see overnight temperatures dip into the low-to-mid 70s, with Graham and Cisco reaching as low as 71°F. The Dallas-Fort Worth area is forecast to reach 76°F overnight, with scattered storm activity most likely north of I-20. Main hazards include frequent lightning, brief heavy downpours, and gusts that could exceed 40 mph.

Drivers are urged to use caution on wet roads, especially during early morning commutes. Residents should secure loose outdoor items and have a way to receive weather alerts overnight.

Storm chances taper off by mid-morning Thursday, though additional advisories could be issued if the system intensifies.
