Fort Worth, TX – North and Central Texas will experience a sharp temperature drop and gusty winds as a strong cold front moves through on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, according to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth.

Forecasters say this will be the strongest front of the season so far, bringing peak wind gusts between 35 and 45 mph and sustained northwest winds of 20–30 mph through Wednesday. Drivers, especially those in high-profile vehicles, are urged to use caution, and residents are reminded to secure Halloween decorations and outdoor items that could be blown around.

Scattered showers and a few isolated storms are expected mainly in East Texas Tuesday afternoon and evening as the front moves through. Behind the front, temperatures will fall quickly, with overnight lows dipping into the 40s.

By mid to late week, conditions will turn cooler, clear, and rain-free, with highs in the 60s and low 70s across Dallas–Fort Worth, Waco, and Central Texas.

Meteorologists say the calm stretch will bring a pleasant and sunny close to October after Tuesday’s blustery weather shift.
