Dallas, Texas – North and Central Texas will see another hot August afternoon Monday, with highs in the mid to upper 90s before scattered thunderstorms develop later tonight. Isolated storms are most likely across western and eastern counties this afternoon, with additional activity moving in from West Texas after midnight.
According to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth, no severe weather is expected, but brief heavy rain, lightning, and strong wind gusts are possible in any storm that forms. Temperatures are expected to peak near 97°F in Dallas-Fort Worth and 98°F in Waco, with overnight lows in the mid to upper 70s.
Areas including Graham, Sherman, and Paris could see pop-up storms this afternoon, while a weakening storm complex is forecast to move into the western portions of North Texas after midnight. The main impact will be short-lived downpours and occasional lightning strikes.
Residents are encouraged to limit outdoor activity during peak heat and remain indoors if storms approach. Conditions will trend quieter by daybreak Tuesday, but more storm chances could return midweek.
