Fort Worth, TX – A strong cold front will sweep across North and Central Texas tonight, bringing a sharp drop in temperatures and widespread rain, according to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth. Temperatures could fall as much as 20 to 30 degrees overnight, especially east of the I-35 corridor where clouds and drizzle are expected to linger.
Forecasters say highs Wednesday reached the 60s and even low 70s in western areas, but by Thursday morning, much of the region will wake up to readings in the 30s and low 40s. The front will bring cloudy skies, periods of light rain, and brisk north winds, making for a cold and damp day Thursday.
Isolated thunderstorms may develop in the Brazos Valley as the system pushes through, though severe weather is not expected. Areas including Waco, DFW, and Palestine could see steady rain through Thursday morning before gradual clearing late in the day.
Motorists should plan for wet and chilly conditions, especially during the morning commute, as temperatures drop rapidly behind the front.
