Dallas, Texas – Texans planning outdoor celebrations for the Fourth of July can expect sunshine and sizzling heat, as temperatures soar near 99°F by Friday across much of North and Central Texas.

According to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth, a weak front will bring isolated storm chances near the Red River from Monday through Wednesday. Areas like Sherman and Paris could see scattered thunderstorms early in the week, but high pressure will quickly rebuild, drying things out in time for the holiday.

In Dallas-Fort Worth, daily highs will hover in the upper 90s all week, peaking at 99°F by Friday with little cloud cover. Waco, Temple, and Killeen follow a similar trend, with Friday forecasted to hit 98°F under clear skies.

While Monday through Wednesday may see 20% chances of afternoon storms—especially north of I-20—most of Central Texas remains dry. Cities like Waco and Killeen will see isolated activity Tuesday but otherwise remain rain-free.

Residents are urged to hydrate, limit outdoor activities during peak heat hours, and keep pets cool. Fire danger may increase due to dry, hot conditions—check with local authorities before lighting fireworks.

More updates are expected as July 4th approaches, but dry and dangerously hot weather is likely across the state.
