Fort Worth, TX – The National Weather Service in Fort Worth reports that several days of showers and thunderstorms since Thursday have produced widespread rainfall and isolated flooding across North and Central Texas.
Preliminary data show rain totals surpassing five inches in several locations, including Fort Worth (5.28”), Weatherford (5.00”), and Sadler (5.50”). Additional reports include Franklin (4.76”), Palestine (4.05”), and Killeen (3.73”), according to estimates compiled through Sunday morning.
Meteorologists say the storms moved repeatedly over the same areas, leading to localized flooding and swollen creeks, particularly across the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex and portions of Central Texas. While rainfall has eased, saturated ground could prolong standing water in low-lying or poor-drainage zones.
Forecasters note that most of the region received at least one inch of rain, with heavier pockets exceeding five inches. The system is expected to clear out early in the week, bringing drier and cooler conditions to the area.
Residents are advised to remain cautious when driving and to avoid flooded roadways.
