Dallas, Texas – Dallas residents will face dangerously high temperatures Thursday and Friday, as a heat advisory remains in effect for the entire Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex and much of North Texas until 7 p.m. Friday. Heat index values could reach up to 108°F, creating a significant risk for heat-related illnesses, especially for those working outdoors or without air conditioning.

According to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth, the advisory stretches from the Red River to the Metroplex, including Denton, Collin, Tarrant, Dallas, and Kaufman counties, with the hottest conditions expected from 1 p.m. Thursday through Friday evening. Humidity levels will push the apparent temperature even higher, while overnight lows in the upper 70s offer little relief.

Drivers, construction crews, and anyone spending time outside should take frequent breaks, drink plenty of water, and wear light clothing. Dallas ISD and area employers may adjust outdoor activities; parents and pet owners are urged to check cars and avoid leaving children or animals unattended. Power grid demand could surge as air conditioners run nonstop.

The National Weather Service warns the heat risk persists through the weekend, with highs near 100°F Saturday and only a slight drop by Sunday. Another round of extreme heat could return next week. Stay alert for additional advisories and check on elderly neighbors or those without adequate cooling.
