DETROIT, Mich. – Southeast Michigan will enjoy a stretch of dry, seasonable weather heading into the weekend before storm chances return late Sunday. Highs today will climb into the upper 80s, with a stray afternoon shower or weak thunderstorm possible north of I-69.

According to the National Weather Service in Detroit/Pontiac, Friday and Saturday will bring cooler, comfortable afternoons with highs in the 70s and overnight lows dropping into the low 50s. Both days are expected to remain dry, making for ideal conditions for outdoor events, high school football, and travel across metro Detroit and surrounding counties.

By Sunday, warmer air returns, and so does the risk of unsettled weather. Highs will push back into the low 80s with showers and thunderstorms possible toward the evening, potentially affecting late-day commutes and outdoor gatherings. While severe weather is not guaranteed, forecasters urge residents to monitor updates and plan around potential delays.

The pattern turns more unsettled early next week, with additional storm chances likely.
