Detroit, MI – Michigan residents can expect a mix of sunshine, rising temperatures, and midweek precipitation as the state transitions from a recent cold front to a warming trend.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS) Detroit/Pontiac, high pressure will bring mostly sunny conditions Monday, but temperatures will remain in the 40s due to lingering cold air. A warming trend begins Tuesday, with highs reaching the low 60s in southeast Michigan by Wednesday.
Further north, the NWS Gaylord reports that temperatures will climb gradually, peaking Wednesday before a larger weather system moves through. Today’s forecast calls for partly to mostly sunny skies with highs between 36°F and 46°F. Clouds will increase in the afternoon, leading to rain chances by Wednesday evening.
By Thursday, a sharp cooldown will impact northern Michigan, bringing the possibility of snow showers as temperatures drop back into the 30s. The shift will mark a return to more seasonable March weather patterns for the region.
Residents should take advantage of the milder midweek temperatures while preparing for changing conditions later in the week. Those traveling in northern areas should stay alert for potential rain and snow impacts by Thursday.
