Detroit, Mich. – Southeast Michigan will stay locked in a warm and dry pattern through early next week, with highs pushing into the mid-80s by Sunday and Monday. Rain chances remain minimal, leaving the region with summerlike afternoons well into September.

According to the National Weather Service in Detroit/Pontiac, today’s highs will reach between 76 and 81 degrees with less than a 25% chance of an isolated shower. From Sunday through Tuesday, temperatures will climb into the 80s, running above seasonal averages, with dry conditions dominating.

Metro Detroit, Ann Arbor, and Flint can expect steady sunshine, while areas south toward Monroe and Adrian will also see unbroken dry stretches. The warm weather will make for favorable travel conditions across I-75, I-94, and I-96 corridors, but residents are urged to stay hydrated and limit outdoor activity during peak afternoon heat, especially the elderly and those with health concerns.

With no significant rain on the horizon, lawns and gardens may dry quickly, and air conditioners will likely remain in steady use through midweek. Residents are encouraged to check on vulnerable neighbors and pets as the heat lingers.

This warm streak is expected to hold until at least Tuesday, with no major cooldowns or storm systems in sight.
