Michigan – Rain is already tapping against pavement across Metro Detroit this afternoon, and a slow-moving storm pattern is setting the stage for several days of wet roads and possible thunderstorms. Conditions are changing quickly, and the dry breaks will be brief.

According to the National Weather Service in Detroit/Pontiac, scattered showers and thunderstorms continue today, with additional rounds expected through tonight. While severe weather is not expected, storms may bring brief heavy rain and reduced visibility across the region.

Drivers along I-94, I-75, and I-696 should prepare for slick roads and sudden slowdowns. Rainfall may intensify at times, especially during heavier bursts this afternoon. Keep headlights on and allow extra space between vehicles.

Monday brings more widespread rain, with a 60 percent chance of showers and possible thunderstorms. Winds could gust near 25 mph, adding to difficult travel conditions during peak commute hours.

By Tuesday, temperatures rise to around 78°F, but storms redevelop after 2 p.m. The threat increases into the evening, with rain chances climbing as high as 80 percent Tuesday night. Expect periods of heavier rain and possible ponding on roadways.

Wednesday continues the unsettled trend with a 70 percent chance of showers and highs near 74°F. Rain lingers into Thursday with additional storm chances, keeping conditions damp across southeast Michigan.

This active spring pattern reflects a broader storm track across the Midwest into the Great Lakes. Conditions may shift quickly, and additional advisories could be issued.

Monday: Showers likely, high 75°F
Tuesday: Chance of storms after 2 p.m., high 78°F
