Detroit, MI – Widespread snow is tapering off across southeast Michigan this morning, but gusty winds and cold temperatures will linger through the day, according to the National Weather Service in Detroit/Pontiac.
Winds are expected to reach 25 to 35 mph this afternoon, reducing visibility and creating blowing snow in open areas. While additional light snow showers may redevelop later today, most accumulations will remain minimal.
High temperatures will stay in the mid-30s, with wind chills in the teens and 20s making for a brisk afternoon. The cold weather will persist into the week, with highs dropping into the low 30s Monday through Wednesday.
The NWS reports that the next round of light snow will arrive Monday evening, peaking late Monday night and ending Tuesday morning. Forecast totals range from 0.5 to 2 inches, with the heaviest accumulations south of I-94, including the Ann Arbor and Adrian areas.
