DETROIT, Mich. – Southeastern Michigan will enjoy one more mild and sunny fall day Thursday before a fast-moving system brings widespread rain/snow early Friday, followed by a return to cooler, breezy weather for the weekend.
According to the National Weather Service in Detroit/Pontiac, Thursday will feature mostly sunny skies and highs in the low to mid-50s, with light winds and dry conditions making for pleasant outdoor plans. Clouds will thicken overnight as a frontal system approaches from the west.
Rain is expected to begin around daybreak Friday, spreading quickly across the Detroit metro area, Ann Arbor, and Flint. Forecasters call for a 90% chance of rain, tapering off by midday. Afternoon highs will briefly reach the upper 50s to low 60s before cooler air settles in.
Saturday turns cloudy and cooler, with highs only in the 40s, but most of the day should stay dry. The chillier weekend marks a brief shift toward more typical mid-November temperatures.
Drivers should plan for slower commutes Friday morning due to wet roads, while homeowners are advised to clear gutters ahead of the rainfall.
