Detroit, MI – Southeast Michigan is on track for a mild and mostly sunny stretch through the Columbus Day holiday weekend, offering ideal weather for travel and outdoor plans, according to the US National Weather Service Detroit/Pontiac Michigan.

Forecasters say Saturday will bring partly sunny skies with only a slight chance of light showers, mainly across the Thumb area. Highs will reach the mid-60s, running a few degrees above normal for early October. Tonight’s lows will fall into the mid-40s under partly cloudy skies.

Sunday and Monday are expected to be mostly sunny, with highs climbing to around 70 degrees both days. Conditions will stay dry across most of southeast Michigan, providing a comfortable setup for fall activities, road trips, and the extended holiday break.

The National Weather Service notes that this warming trend should continue into early next week before cooler, unsettled weather returns later in the month.
