Temperatures drop steadily through the day. Afternoon readings fall through the 30s, then sink into the 20s by evening, continuing downward overnight. Gusty winds add bite, making it feel colder than the thermometer suggests and accelerating icy road development.
Travel impacts are expected to increase during the late afternoon and evening commute, when snow showers combine with rapidly freezing pavement. Even light snowfall may significantly reduce traction as colder air deepens across the region.
