Detroit, MI – Drivers across Detroit should expect multiple freeway closures this week as work continues on the Gordie Howe International Bridge project. Starting Monday, Oct. 28, Bridging North America will close lanes on several key routes, including I-75, I-94, and I-96.

According to project officials, the right lane on eastbound I-96 between Butternut Street and Selden Street will close daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Thursday, Oct. 31, for signage installation.

Nighttime closures will also impact southbound I-75 and the I-94 off-ramp beginning Oct. 28. Crews will close two right lanes on I-75 between Canfield and Ferry streets, as well as the eastbound and westbound I-94 off-ramps. The southbound I-75 on-ramp at Warren Avenue will also close. These restrictions will remain in place nightly from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. through Oct. 30.

In addition, Rademacher Street at Jefferson Avenue remains closed for bridge-related construction through Nov. 21.

Motorists are encouraged to plan alternate routes and allow extra time for travel during these periods.
