Detroit, MI – A round of early-morning showers and isolated thunderstorms is moving across southeast Michigan today as a cold front sweeps through the region, according to the US National Weather Service Detroit/Pontiac.
Forecasters say rain and a few rumbles of thunder are most likely through the morning hours before skies begin to clear later in the day. Highs are expected to reach near 70 degrees, followed by cooler air arriving tonight as the front passes.
By Wednesday, conditions turn sunny and noticeably cooler, with highs around 58 degrees. The National Weather Service reports that the mild, dry pattern will continue into the end of the week, with temperatures slowly warming to the mid-60s by Friday.
Drivers and commuters should prepare for wet roads and reduced visibility early this morning, particularly across metro Detroit and surrounding counties including Oakland, Wayne, and Washtenaw.
Forecasters note this system marks the beginning of a post-frontal cooldown, bringing a crisp fall feel to the region through midweek.
