Detroit, MI – Commuters in southeast Michigan are facing a Dense Fog Advisory in effect until 9 a.m. Tuesday, as low visibility reduces travel safety across the region.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Detroit/Pontiac, visibility has dropped to one quarter mile or less in dense fog affecting eight counties, including Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, St. Clair, Washtenaw, Livingston, Lenawee, and Monroe. Cities impacted include Detroit, Ann Arbor, Warren, Pontiac, Port Huron, Howell, Adrian, and Monroe.

Forecasters warn that fog could cause dangerous travel conditions during the morning commute, especially on highways and interstates leading into the Detroit metro area. Drivers are urged to slow down, turn on headlights, and allow extra distance between vehicles.

The advisory is expected to expire at 9 a.m. EDT, with gradual improvement as fog lifts later in the morning. Still, motorists should remain alert to lingering patches of reduced visibility until conditions fully clear.
