Detroit, MI – Southeast Michigan will see another cool and breezy day today as winds continue to gust up to 30 mph, keeping wind chills noticeably lower and conditions brisk across the region. Afternoon highs are expected to remain in the low to mid-40s, several degrees below normal for mid-November.

According to the National Weather Service Detroit/Pontiac, flurries may develop at times in the Saginaw Valley and portions of the northern Thumb as colder air filters in from the northwest. Most areas, including Detroit, Ann Arbor, Howell, and Monroe, will stay dry through the day but still feel the impacts of strong winds and cooler temperatures.

Tonight, skies turn mostly clear, but winds may still gust up to 20 mph in spots before diminishing overnight. Lows are expected to fall into the upper 20s, creating a freezing start Tuesday morning and potential for frost on elevated surfaces.

The cooler stretch continues through midweek with highs holding in the lower 40s through Wednesday. Forecasters say a gradual warming trend will arrive late in the week, pushing temperatures back into the low 50s by Thursday night and Friday.

The next chance of precipitation arrives Tuesday, when a weak system passes overhead. Forecast models indicate a rain/snow mix is possible, especially during the morning hours. No accumulation is expected, and impacts should remain minimal as temperatures rebound in the afternoon.

Wind speeds will ease by midweek, allowing for calmer conditions even as temperatures stay on the cooler side. The warming trend heading toward the weekend may offer a brief return to near-normal temperatures before another pattern shift next week.

Residents are encouraged to dress in layers today and remain cautious of occasional gusty winds, especially on north–south roadways.
