Detroit, Michigan – Southeast Michigan could see scattered showers or thunderstorms Wednesday, with the National Weather Service placing rain chances at 30 to 40 percent before conditions turn hotter and more humid to close out the week.
According to the NWS Detroit office, today’s high will reach 86°F under partly sunny skies, with isolated storms possible across the region during the afternoon. A shift in wind direction late Thursday will help usher in warmer, stickier air across areas including Ann Arbor, Pontiac, and Monroe.
Thursday and Friday are expected to stay dry, but heat and humidity will build steadily. Temperatures will remain in the mid-80s both days, with lows creeping toward 70°F by the weekend. A light easterly wind today will give way to a southerly flow that could amplify humidity by Friday afternoon.
Drivers should watch for brief downpours or gusty winds if storms develop today, especially along I-75 and I-94 corridors. Residents are advised to stay hydrated and limit strenuous outdoor activity later this week as conditions grow more oppressive.
No weather advisories are currently in effect, but updates may follow if storms strengthen or heat indexes climb beyond safe thresholds.
