Des Moines, Iowa – Central Iowa is heading into a stretch of nearly perfect early fall weather, with sunshine and daytime highs in the mid-80s continuing through early next week. Drivers, outdoor workers, and weekend event planners can expect dry roads and skies across Polk County and much of the state.

According to the National Weather Service in Des Moines, Friday will top out near 85 degrees under clear skies, followed by a calm night with lows around 58. The weekend pattern holds steady, with Saturday and Sunday both bringing highs around 84 and mostly calm winds, offering ideal conditions for football games, outdoor markets, and late-season yard work.

Overnight lows will remain comfortable, falling into the upper 50s to near 60, with mostly clear skies each night. Monday will be the warmest day in the stretch, reaching 86 degrees before clouds move in Monday night.

No rain is in the outlook through at least Tuesday, giving residents several days of reliable dry weather. Warm, sunny conditions are expected to dominate until midweek, when the next system may bring a change.
