Denver, CO – Colorado’s spring weather is taking a dramatic turn, with warm temperatures midweek giving way to strong winds, rain, and snow by Friday. Residents should prepare for shifting conditions, especially along I-70 and the eastern plains.

According to the National Weather Service, Wednesday and Thursday will remain mild, with highs near 70°F in Denver. However, fire danger is elevated due to dry conditions and gusty winds, particularly south of I-70 and over the Palmer Divide.

By Friday, a powerful storm system will bring wind speeds up to 60 mph, along with rain transitioning to snow in the mountains and foothills. The far eastern plains may also see snow accumulation, depending on overnight temperatures. Blustery conditions will persist into the weekend, making travel hazardous in higher elevations.

Saturday brings a slight chance of snow showers before clearing up with a high of 49°F. Sunday and Monday will see a return to sunny skies, with highs reaching 71°F by early next week. However, another chance of rain and snow arrives Tuesday.

Drivers should use caution on mountain passes and prepare for reduced visibility Friday into Saturday. Stay updated with real-time alerts, and plan for changing conditions across Colorado.
