Denver, CO – Snow is set to make a return to northern Colorado Friday night, with travel impacts expected across the mountains and plains, according to the National Weather Service in Denver/Boulder.

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for the mountains from 5 p.m. Friday through 8 a.m. Saturday, with several inches of snow forecast. The weather service advises travelers heading through higher elevations to plan for reduced visibility and slick roads overnight.

Lower elevations, including areas along the Front Range, may also see light snow late tonight, marking the region’s first measurable snowfall of the season. Accumulations are expected to remain under one inch but could still create slippery conditions into mid-morning Saturday.

Forecasters say another round of snow could develop Sunday night into early Monday, bringing renewed travel impacts before conditions improve next week.

Drivers are urged to use caution and check updated road reports before traveling, particularly on I-70, U.S. 40, and mountain passes where snow and blowing wind may reduce visibility overnight.
