Denver, CO – Above-normal temperatures will persist across Colorado today before a cooler pattern settles in for the weekend, according to the National Weather Service Denver/Boulder.

Forecasters say clouds will increase through the afternoon, with light snow possible across the northern mountains late tonight. Most Front Range communities will remain dry, with decreasing winds and partly cloudy skies expected overnight.

Temperatures are forecast to fall into the upper 20s to mid-30s across the plains and Front Range valleys, while mountain areas will dip into the teens and low 20s. Light snow showers in the high country are expected to taper off before sunrise Friday.

The weekend outlook calls for cooler daytime highs before a gradual warm-up returns early next week. Breezy northwest winds are also expected to persist Friday, keeping conditions chilly despite mostly sunny skies.

Drivers traveling through high mountain passes tonight should watch for light snow and slick conditions as temperatures drop.
