Denver, CO – The National Weather Service in Denver/Boulder reports that a return to wintry conditions is expected in the Colorado high country tonight, October 19, as snow showers develop across the northern mountains.
According to forecasters, 2 to 4 inches of snow is expected in the Park Range, with lighter accumulations elsewhere. Rain and snow showers will likely continue into early Monday morning before tapering off.
Meanwhile, winds will strengthen across the Front Range foothills late tonight, with gusts reaching up to 60 mph in wind-prone areas. Monday will turn cooler and windy statewide, following a mild and sunny Sunday that saw highs in the 60s and 70s across the plains.
Travelers heading into the mountains overnight should prepare for slick roads and reduced visibility, especially at higher elevations.
