Denver, CO – Residents across the Denver metro and northern Front Range should prepare for a sharp overnight temperature drop, as the National Weather Service in Denver has issued a Freeze Warning from midnight tonight through 8 a.m. Tuesday.

According to the NWS, temperatures are expected to fall between 29°F and 34°F, with the coldest conditions likely from Fort Collins through Longmont, as well as east and south of the Denver metro area.

The warning includes Larimer, Boulder, Jefferson, Adams, Arapahoe, Douglas, Weld, and Elbert counties, covering major communities such as Denver, Boulder, Castle Rock, Parker, Longmont, and Aurora.

Forecasters warn that frost and freeze conditions could damage crops, flowers, and sensitive vegetation. Homeowners are urged to bring plants indoors, cover outdoor gardens, and drain or insulate exposed plumbing to prevent burst pipes.

This marks one of the season’s first widespread freezes for the Denver area, signaling a transition toward colder, late-October weather patterns. Temperatures are expected to rebound slightly by midweek, though additional cold mornings are possible later this week.
