Denver, Colorado – Much of Colorado’s Front Range will wake up to freezing temperatures early Tuesday as a Freeze Warning remains in effect for Denver, Boulder, Fort Collins, and surrounding communities. Lows are expected to dip between 29 and 34 degrees, marking the coldest air of the fall season so far.
According to the National Weather Service in Denver, the warning remains active from midnight Monday until 8 a.m. Tuesday. Frost and freeze conditions could damage or kill late-season crops, flowers, and sensitive plants. Homeowners are urged to bring outdoor plants inside or cover them overnight to avoid freeze burn.
Residents should also take precautions to protect plumbing and sprinkler systems from freezing. The NWS advises wrapping exposed pipes and draining outdoor lines before temperatures fall below freezing.
The freeze threat extends across the Denver metro area, Castle Rock, Longmont, and east through Byers. Conditions will moderate slightly by midweek, but overnight lows could remain in the 30s through Wednesday morning.
Warnings remain in effect through 8 a.m. Tuesday, with another alert possible if cold air lingers into midweek.
