Denver, Colorado — Sunny skies and warmer temperatures are expected across the Front Range to start the week before wind and fire weather concerns increase later in the week.

According to the National Weather Service in Denver/Boulder, Sunday and Monday will bring mostly sunny skies and mild temperatures, with breezy conditions developing near the mountains and foothills.

Temperatures Sunday are expected to reach the upper 50s to around 60 degrees across parts of the Denver metro area, with cooler conditions in higher elevations.

The mild pattern is expected to continue into Tuesday, though conditions may turn cooler and windier by the afternoon as the weather pattern begins to shift.

Forecasters say there is also a chance for rain or snow showers Tuesday night into early Wednesday, especially in mountain areas.

By Wednesday, temperatures are expected to cool slightly while breezy to windy conditions develop across the region.

Attention then turns to Thursday and Friday, when strong winds combined with dry air could create critical fire weather conditions across portions of eastern Colorado and the Front Range.

Officials encourage residents to remain cautious with outdoor burning and activities that could spark a wildfire during periods of elevated fire danger.

Students, commuters, and travelers along the Interstate 25 corridor may notice changing weather conditions through the week as winds increase.

The National Weather Service encourages residents to stay updated on forecasts and fire weather alerts later this week.
