Denver, CO – Another warm day is on tap for the Denver and Boulder areas Sunday, with record high temperatures possible across the plains, according to the National Weather Service in Denver/Boulder.
Forecasters say highs will range from 75°F to 80°F across lower elevations including Denver, Boulder, Fort Collins, and Sterling, while mountain areas such as Breckenridge and Fairplay will stay cooler, near the mid-40s to upper 50s.
The warm, dry, and breezy conditions have led to elevated fire weather concerns for areas near the Wyoming border this afternoon. Residents in those northern counties are advised to avoid outdoor burning and use caution with any activities that could spark fires.
Temperatures are expected to drop Monday, with highs returning to the mid-50s to near 60°F on the plains as a cooler air mass moves in. Despite the cooldown, dry weather will continue into the early part of the week.
