Denver, CO – Strong winds and scattered storms are expected across much of Colorado on Saturday, according to the National Weather Service in Denver/Boulder. Forecasters warn that gusts could reach up to 45 mph, particularly south of Interstate 70 and across the eastern plains, as temperatures dip slightly from earlier in the week.

Showers and afternoon thunderstorms are likely in the mountains, with scattered storms possible on the plains later in the day. The NWS notes that conditions will be warm but windy, creating potential travel hazards for high-profile vehicles and outdoor plans.

Sunday will bring a cooler air mass, with a continued chance of afternoon and overnight showers. The weather service also forecasts light snow accumulation above 10,000 feet, signaling the first hints of early-season winter weather for the high country.

Drivers are advised to use caution on open stretches of highway and to secure outdoor items ahead of the gusty conditions.
