Philadelphia, PA — Dense fog is creating hazardous driving conditions this morning across portions of southeast Pennsylvania and New Jersey, with visibility reduced to a quarter mile or less. The National Weather Service has issued a Dense Fog Advisory until 9 a.m.
According to the National Weather Service in Mount Holly, the advisory covers areas including Philadelphia, Trenton, and Camden. Drivers are urged to slow down, use low-beam headlights, and allow extra distance for braking. The fog is expected to lift by mid-morning, but lingering wet roads could pose additional challenges as rain moves into the region.
Monday’s forecast includes scattered morning showers, followed by clearing skies and a high near 62 degrees. Winds could gust up to 15 mph, making conditions breezy. Showers will return Monday night, with lows dipping to 37 degrees.
The weather pattern remains unsettled through the week, with rain likely on Tuesday and Tuesday night. New Year’s Eve will bring drier conditions, though temperatures will drop to 46 degrees by evening. New Year’s Day is expected to be partly cloudy, with a high near 50.
Travelers should plan ahead for potential delays, particularly during peak morning hours today. Officials recommend checking local forecasts and road conditions before heading out.
