Pittsburgh, PA – The US National Weather Service in Pittsburgh has issued a dense fog alert for parts of western Pennsylvania, eastern Ohio, and the northern panhandle of West Virginia this Saturday morning.
According to forecasters, visibility may drop to a quarter of a mile or less in some locations, particularly west of Pittsburgh along the I-70 and I-77 corridors near Cambridge, New Philadelphia, and Weirton. The fog is expected to linger through the early morning hours before gradually lifting by late morning.
Drivers are urged to use caution, turn on low-beam headlights, and reduce speed when traveling through fog-prone areas. The National Weather Service warns that dense fog can make it difficult to see roadways and increase the risk of accidents, especially during early commutes.
Motorists are also advised to avoid using high beams, which can reflect off the fog and worsen visibility.
