Houston, TX – A dense fog advisory is in effect for Houston and nearby counties this morning, impacting visibility for commuters. Motorists should exercise extreme caution, especially along I-45 and major roadways, as low visibility could create hazardous driving conditions until 9 a.m.
According to the National Weather Service, visibility is reduced to as little as a quarter to a half mile in dense fog affecting inland Harris, Montgomery, Liberty, and Polk counties, among others. Drivers are urged to slow down, use low-beam headlights, and maintain a safe distance from other vehicles to prevent accidents.
Veterans Day will clear up after the fog dissipates, leading to sunny skies with a high near 82°F. Northerly winds will blow around 5 mph, providing a calm day for outdoor activities once the morning fog lifts. Tonight, expect mostly clear conditions and temperatures dropping to a low of 61°F.
Looking ahead, Tuesday will see sunny skies with a high near 79°F, and a similar low around 63°F at night. Wednesday may bring a 20% chance of showers or thunderstorms but should transition to mostly sunny by the afternoon, with a high of 82°F. The rest of the week includes dry, sunny weather, perfect for those planning weekend outings.
Residents are encouraged to stay tuned to local weather updates and heed any further advisories for a safe week ahead.
