
DeMotte, IN – A routine traffic stop in Jasper County led to the arrest of Gene S. Wilkerson, 37, from DeMotte, Indiana, on charges of methamphetamine possession.
According to Jasper County Sheriff’s Department the incident that occurred on the evening of December 19 when deputies initiated the stop after observing a black Ford Mustang with improper lighting exiting a field access on County Rd. 700 W., north of State Rd. 110.
The arrest unfolded as Wilkerson, the driver, reportedly displayed suspicious behavior, prompting a vehicle search. This led to the discovery of a white crystal substance, later identified as methamphetamine through field testing.
Wilkerson was taken into custody on felony charges for possession and booked at the Jasper County Detention Center.
