Delta Township, MI – A 12-year-old boy from Grand Ledge was killed late Thursday night after being struck by a vehicle while riding his bicycle in Delta Township, according to the Eaton County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded around 11:33 p.m. on October 23 to the area of Willow Highway and I-96 for reports of a serious crash. Upon arrival, investigators determined that a vehicle traveling eastbound on Willow Highway struck the child, who was pronounced deceased at the scene.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, the incident remains under active investigation by the Eaton County Detective Bureau and Crash Investigation Team. Authorities have not released the identity of the driver or the young victim at this time.
“The Eaton County Sheriff’s Office extends its deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of the child during this difficult time,” the department said in a statement Friday.
