WILMINGTON, Del. – A dry and sunny Friday will give way to unsettled weather this weekend as showers push into northern Delaware by Saturday night, bringing the potential for slick roads and damp conditions into early next week.
According to the National Weather Service in Mount Holly, skies stay partly sunny Saturday with highs near 79 before showers move in after 2 p.m. Rain becomes likely overnight, with the heaviest activity expected between 8 p.m. and 2 a.m. Sunday. Forecasters say precipitation chances rise to 60% during that window, with some areas seeing up to half an inch.
Sunday brings more scattered showers, mainly during the morning, followed by a mostly cloudy afternoon with highs around 77. Commuters on I-95 and Route 13 should be prepared for reduced visibility during the morning hours.
Conditions remain mostly cloudy through Monday, with another round of light showers possible Monday night. Tuesday stays dry but gray, before sunshine makes a return by midweek.
Residents are urged to keep umbrellas handy and allow extra travel time Saturday night into Sunday morning. Additional advisories could be issued if rainfall increases.
