Wilmington, Del. – Cloudy skies will linger across Delaware through midweek with spotty showers possible before sunshine and warmer air arrive Thursday. Temperatures will climb into the 80s by the end of the week, setting up a dry and pleasant stretch into the weekend.
According to the National Weather Service in Mount Holly, there’s a 20 percent chance of showers Tuesday night and again Wednesday afternoon, with overnight lows holding near 65 degrees. Winds will remain light, generally under 10 mph, but could shift from the northeast to the east as the system passes through.
Drivers in Wilmington, Newark, and Dover may see damp roads during the evening commute Tuesday and Wednesday, though rainfall totals are expected to remain light. No flooding concerns are forecast, but forecasters advise caution during scattered showers, especially for early morning travelers.
Conditions turn sharply drier by Thursday, when skies clear and highs reach the low 80s. Sunny skies are expected Friday through much of the weekend, though another round of showers could return late Saturday into Sunday.
More updates may be issued midweek if showers persist, but for now, Delawareans can expect a brighter end to the week.
