Wilmington, DE — Delaware residents should prepare for heavy rain and potential thunderstorms late Monday evening, with impacts likely felt into the early hours of Tuesday. Drivers along I-95 and I-495 should be alert for slick roads and reduced visibility, especially before 2 a.m.

According to the National Weather Service, showers and isolated thunderstorms will move through Wilmington late tonight, with the heaviest rainfall expected before 2 a.m. New Castle County could receive between one and two inches of rain, with southwest winds gusting up to 25 mph before shifting northwest.

Tuesday morning will bring clearing skies and sunshine, with temperatures rebounding to a high of 58°F. Winds will remain brisk from the northwest at 15 mph, keeping conditions breezy. The low will drop to 37°F Tuesday night under mostly clear skies.

Looking ahead, Wilmington can expect partly sunny conditions Wednesday with a high near 56°F, followed by scattered showers Wednesday night. Thursday warms up to 78°F with breezy conditions and increasing rain chances into the evening.

By Friday, temperatures fall to the low 60s with continued rain possible. Rain is likely to persist through Saturday and Sunday, with a 50–60% chance of showers across the weekend.
