Dover, DE – The National Weather Service in Mount Holly, New Jersey has issued a Freezing Fog Advisory for parts of Delaware and eastern Maryland, in effect until 9 a.m. EST Sunday, December 7.

Forecasters report visibility near or below one-half mile due to dense freezing fog across Kent, Inland Sussex, and Delaware Beaches Counties in Delaware, and Caroline, Kent (MD), Queen Anne’s, and Talbot Counties in Maryland.

According to the Weather Service, the combination of low visibility and icy buildup on untreated surfaces may create dangerous travel conditions early Sunday morning. Bridges, overpasses, and sidewalks may be particularly slippery before sunrise.

Drivers are urged to use low-beam headlights, reduce speed, and avoid cruise control while traveling through foggy areas. Conditions are expected to gradually improve by mid-morning as temperatures rise and fog dissipates.

This Freezing Fog Advisory remains in effect until 9 a.m. EST Sunday.
