Philadelphia, PA – A cold night followed by light snow is expected across parts of Delaware, southern New Jersey, and the lower Philadelphia region early Friday morning, according to the National Weather Service Philadelphia/Mount Holly.
Forecasters say snow will begin before dawn Friday, spreading east from the Maryland Eastern Shore into Delaware and southern New Jersey between 5 a.m. and 7 a.m.. Most accumulation will stay south of Philadelphia, with a light coating to around 1 inch possible from Wilmington to Atlantic City and Cape May.
Temperatures overnight will dip into the teens and low 20s, with single digits likely in the Poconos, making this the coldest night of the season so far. Winds will ease overnight but highs on Friday will remain well below normal, staying in the 20s to near 30°F north of I-95 and low 30s farther south.
Motorists should use caution on bridges and untreated roads early Friday as slick spots could develop.
